Raid on Jain premises expected in view of ULB elections: Mahara

The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has said that the raids conducted by the central agencies on the premises of the Congress leader Rajiv Jain were expected in view of the ensuing elections of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) in the State.
The PCC president told The Pioneer that the BJP government has made the central agencies such as Enforcement Directorate (ED), Income Tax department and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) tools to target and harass opposition leaders. He said that Jain, whose premises were raided on Tuesday, was inactive in the Congress party since the past two to three years. Mahara added that Jain has been indisposed for the last three years and is said to be suffering from chronic kidney disease. He said that the land dealings and other activities of the individuals irrespective of their political affiliations should be investigated and the truth should be brought out before the public.
