Rain and snowfall forecast in mountains, fog in the plains

The plains are likely to witness dense fog while four mountainous districts of the State may witness rain and snowfall on Monday. The State Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of dense fog likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts.

Apart from this, very light to light rain/snowfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh districts of the State. Snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above while dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. Mist is likely to occur during the morning hours while the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 23 degrees Celsius and nine degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Sunday were 22.4 degrees Celsius and 7.1 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun 20.4 degrees Celsius and 5.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18.5 degrees Celsius and 7.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16.5 degrees Celsius and 7.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
