Rain and snowfall likely to continue in State today

The rainy weather is likely to continue in various parts of the State today. The State meteorological centre has forecast that light to moderate rain/ thunderstorm/ snowfall are very likely to occur at most places in districts of Kumaon region and at many places in districts of Garhwal region on Tuesday. Snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 3,000 metres and above. The meteorological centre has also issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail likely to occur at isolated places in the districts today.
The provisional State capital is forecast to experience light to moderate rain/thunderstorm/hailstorm with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 22 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 23.9 degrees Celsius and 14.6 degrees Celsisu respectively in Dehradun, 21.8 degrees Celsius and 12.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 9.8 degrees Celsius and 5.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14 degrees Celsius and 7.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Further, 34.5 millimetres rain was recorded in Mussoorie, 23 millimetres in Khatima, 16 millimetres in Nainital, 15 millimetres in Dwarahat and 37 millimetres in Pantnagar.
