While light rain was experienced in some parts of the state on Wednesday, the State meteorological centre has forecast the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm at a few places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts on Thursday. Very light to light rainfall/thunderstorm is likely to occur at isolated places in remaining mountainous regions of the state while dry weather is likely to prevail in the plains.
The provisional state capital Dehradun which experienced partly cloudy skies and a windy evening, partly cloudy sky with thunder cloud development and possibility of light rain in some areas has been forecast for Thursday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 36 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the state on Wednesday were 36.9 degrees Celsius and 21.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 37 degrees Celsius and 22.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 26.2 degrees Celsius and 14.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 28 degrees Celsius and 16.6 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
