Rain fury continues: Gaula bridge under threat, order issued to repair its approach

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Gaula bridge in Haldwani is under threat these days with rain lashing the Nainital district and swelling the rivers for the past few days. Concerned over the worsening condition of the bridge, the district administration officials and the National Highway Authority of India officials made on-ground inspection of the bridge. Thereafter, the city magistrate Richa Singh instructed the officials concerned to have the crumbling approach of the bridge repaired at the earliest. The NHAI officials also started their repairing work. Notably, the approach to Gaula bridge was damaged due to raging rain during the 2021 monsoon season, resulting in the traffic movement remaining stalled for a considerable period of time.
