Rain gods open up during warm days in Uttarakhand

The weather took a turn as forecast with rain in most parts of the State on Thursday. Similar weather is likely on Friday with the State Meteorological Centre forecasting light to moderate rainfall/ snowfall likely to occur at most places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Pauri, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Nainital and Champawat districts and at a few places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar district.
A warning has also been issued regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places and heavy snowfall (at 3,000 metres and above) at a few places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail/heavy rainfall are likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun.

Further, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/ hail are likely to occur at isolated places in Pauri, Champawat, Almora districts. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a generally cloudy sky with few spells of rainfall- one or two may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 15 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
