Rain, hail & squall forecast in the State today

Rains accompanied by thunder and wind brought relief from the heat in Dehradun on Friday night. The weather on Sunday is also likely to be similar in the provisional State capital. Apart from this, the State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of hail/squall (60-70 kmph gusting up to 80 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in the State. Thunderstorm accompanied with hail/ lightning/intense shower are also likely to occur at isolated places in the State today.
Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm are likely to occur at many places in the mountainous region and at a few places in plains of Uttarakhand. Dehradun is forecast to experience partly cloudy sky with rain/thundershower/hail accompanied with squall/ gusty wind likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 36 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday. Meanwhile, Kedarnath received 18 millimetres rain, Naugaon received nine millimetres and Badrinath received two millimetres rain on Saturday. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 36.6 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 37.8 degrees Celsius and 24.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 27.2 degrees Celsius and 10.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar, 28.8 degrees Celsius and 13.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
