Rain leaves several routes waterlogged in Doon

Despite the claims of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) of making advance arrangements for monsoon, several roads were waterlogged in different parts of the city on Tuesday. Many sites including Prince Chowk, Darshanlal Chowk, Dharampur, Raipur Road, Rajpur Road, Balawala, Haridwar Road and Sahastradhara Road areas among others were heavily waterlogged after some hours of rain during the daytime. The disaster control room of the corporation had also received 10 complaints of waterlogging from areas including Balawala, Dilaram Chowk, Nehrugram and Raipur Road among others till late evening. The control room operator said that most of these complaints were regarding waterlogging on roads in the colonies. Teams deployed in the control room throughout the day and night are being sent to the spot after getting the complaint, the officials said.
