Rain likely in 5 districts, rest of State to remain dry and warmer

The trend of warmer weather continued in various parts of the State with above normal temperatures being recorded in Dehradun and other parts of the State on Sunday. Though there was no significant rainfall where it was forecast today, the State Meteorological Centre has again forecast the possibility of very light to light rain at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Bageshwar districts with dry weather likely to prevail in the rest of the districts on Monday.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with mist/shallow fog likely to occur in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain above normal at 26 degrees Celsius and nine degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Sunday were 27.2 degrees Celsius and 8.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 24.6 degrees Celsius and 6.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19.6 degrees Celsius and five degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 17.5 degrees Celsius and 7.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum temperature was six degrees Celsius above normal while the minimum was normal in Dehradun. Similarly, the maximum was seven degrees above normal and the minimum was three degrees above normal in Mukteshwar while the maximum was two and the minimum was three degrees above normal. The maximum was two degrees above normal while the minimum was a degree below normal in Pantnagar on Sunday.
