Rain likely in Dehradun & two other districts today

Even as temperatures continue to remain above normal in Dehradun and various other parts of the State, the weather is likely to take a turn on Saturday. The State Meteoroloical Centre has forecast that very light to light rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Chamoli districts while dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly to partly clear sky. There is a possibility of thundercloud development/very light to light rainfall here on Saturday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 25 degrees Celsius and eight degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The rainfall forecast today is not likely to bring about a noticeable difference in the temperatures which are likely to remain above normal in Dehradun. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 25 degrees Celsius and 7.9 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 25.1 degrees Celsius and 5.7 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 16.2 degrees Celsius and 2.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 15.6 degrees Celsius and 4.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum temperature was four degrees Celsius above normal in Dehradun and three degrees Celsius above normal in Pantnagar. The maximum was three degrees above normal and the minimum was a degree above normal in Mukteshwar.
