Rain likely in seven districts including Dehradun today

The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State on Wednesday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/snowfall is likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts and at a few places in Dehradun and Tehri districts. Very light to light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of the State. Further, snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness generally cloudy skies with rain/thunderstorm also likely to occur. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 27 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Wednesday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 27.2 degrees Celsius and 11.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 29.7 degrees Celsius and 10.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18.3 degrees Celsius and five degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 17.3 degrees Celsius and 7.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Very light rain was also reported in some places with one millimetre being recorded in Mori, 0.5 millimetre each in Lakhamandal and Badkot and trace rain in Mussoorie on Tuesday.
