Thunderstorm & lightning warning also issued for parts of State

Rain and snowfall are forecast to occur in parts of seven districts on Friday. The State meteorological centre has also issued a warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning at isolated places in these districts. According to the meteorological centre, light to moderate rain/snowfall is likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Bageshwar districts while very light to light rain/snowfall is likely to occur at a few places in Dehradun and Tehri districts on Friday. The meteorological centre has also issued a warning about thunderstorms accompanied with lightning likely to occur at isolated places in these seven districts. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with very light to light rain/thunderstorm likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 27 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Friday.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Thursday were 26.6 degrees Celsius and 9.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 24.5 degrees Celsius and 6.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 17.8 degrees Celsius and 4.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16.6 degrees Celsius and 5.9 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
