Rain, squall & hail warning issued for State

The State meteorological centre has issued a weather warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with hail/lightning likely to occur at isolated places on Monday.  Squall (70-80 kmph gusting up to 90 kmph) is likely to occur at a few places in the plains and at isolated places in mountainous regions of the State. Further, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in districts of Kumaon region. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm are likely to occur at most places with intense showers at isolated places in districts of Uttarakhand.

The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of rain/thundershower accompanied with hail/squall (50-60 kmph gusting up to 70 kmph) are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Monday. Meanwhile, the rain experienced at various places on Sunday was 42 millimetres in Berinag, 39 millimetres in Nainbagh, 36 millimetres in Didihat and 17 millimetres in Agastyamuni. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places on Sunday were 35.4 degrees Celsius and 21.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35 degrees Celsius and 25.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.1 degrees Celsius and 12.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.6 degrees Celsius and 15.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
