In latest Uttarakhand news, after a prolonged dry spell since the monsoon withdrew, the weather suddenly changed and a high-speed squall accompanied by rain pounded Dehradun and other parts of the State in the morning, resulting in the sudden dip in mercury and disruption of normal life. Notably, the regional metrological department had issued alert of rain and squall. The places which the rain/squall lashed included Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Muni Ke Reti and Shyampur. Besides, according to the Met department, the mountain areas received rain accompanied by squall. With the mercury having dipped by a few notches, the people had to bring out the woolens from cupboards.
