Even as Dehradun experienced considerable rainfall on Thursday, the state meteorological centre has forecast light to moderate rain/thunderstorm/snowfall at a few places in the mountains of Uttarakhand on Friday. Further, very light to light rain/thunderstorm is also likely to occur at isolated places in plains of Uttarakhand. The meteorological centre also issued a warning about the likelihood of thunderstorm accompanied with lightning at isolated places in the mountains of Uttarakhand. In Dehradun, the weather is likely to be mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with thunder cloud development likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 31 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Friday.
Meanwhile on Thursday, Dehradun received 19.1 millimetres of rain, Mukteshwar received 2.6 millimetres and New Tehri received 1.4 millimetres of rain. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various cities on Thursday were 28.2 degrees Celsius and 18.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 29 degrees Celsius and 17.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 15.5 degrees Celsius and 8.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16.4 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
