Rain & thunderstorms forecast in all districts today

With the State experiencing relief from heat wave conditions for the past couple of days, the weather is likely to get cooler today. The State meteorological centre has forecast that light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in all the districts of the State on Tuesday. The meteorological centre has also issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense spells of rain/squall (50- 60 kmph gusting up to 70 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of the STate today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning /squall (50-60 kmph) are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 37 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 39.6 degrees Celsius and 25.1 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 39.1 degrees Celsius and 27.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25.1 degrees Celsius and 14.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 28.2 degrees Celsius and 18.7 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.

Light to moderate rain was reported in some parts of the State with 43 millimetres in Chaukhutiya, 16 millimetres in Ukhimath, 6.5 millimetres in Jakholi, serven millimetres in Kanalichhina and 5.5 millimetres in Srinagar.
