Rain & thunderstorms likely in 5 districts, rest of State to remain dry

The provisional State capital Dehradun and various other parts of the State experienced sunny and comparatively clear skies on Friday while some places witnessed light to moderate rain. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Saturday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State today.
Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius respectively today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 30.8 degrees Celsius and 17.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 31.2 degrees Celsius and 16.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19.4 degrees Celsius and 8.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 20.2 degrees Celsius and 9.3 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light to moderate rain was also reported in some parts of the State on Friday with 18.5 millimetres in Nainital, 8.5 millimetres in Yamkeshwar, three millimetres in Kedarnath and 2.5 millimetres in Karnprayag.
