Rains forecast today in mountains after dry, warmer spell

After a dry and comparatively warmer spell which lasted a few days, the weather is forecast to take a turn in the State on Tuesday with rain likely in at least four districts. The State Meteorological Centre has forecast that very light to light rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts on Tuesday. Apart from this, the weather is forecast to remain dry in the remaining districts of the State.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards the afternoon/evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 27 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in the State on Monday were 26.4 degrees Celsius and 10.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 27.2 degrees Celsius and 7.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 16.6 degrees Celsius and 2.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16.4 degrees Celsius and 5.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum temperature was three degrees Celsius above normal while the minimum was a degree above normal in Dehradun. The maximum was two degrees above normal and the minimum was a degree below normal in Pantnagar while in Mukteshwar the maximum was two degrees above normal and the minimum was a degree below normal. In Tehri the maximum was two degrees below normal while the minimum was a degree below normal.
