Raipur public centre loot accused injured in encounter

One of the accused of the incident of loot involving a public service centre in Raipur was injured in firing during an encounter with Dehradun police while another was arrested. The third criminal fled the scene. Police said that the trio travelling on a two-wheeler was challenged by the police team within the Ranipokhri police station area during a checking drive. As they refused to stop and started speeding towards forest, police opened fire. One of them received bullet injuries in one of his legs while another was arrested. The injured was rushed to Jolly Grant Hospital. While the third is on the run the two were identified as Sahil (22) from Bijnor and Kamil (50) from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. A country-made pistol along with live cartridges and a stolen two-wheeler were seized.
Notably, the public service centre at Raipur was looted on March 11.
