Renowned water resource and hydropower expert Rajendra Chalisgaonkar was conferred ‘Prof. R.J Garde Lifetime Achievement Award 2021‘ on December 23, 2021. The award was given by the Indian Society for Hydraulics during the HYDRO 2021 International conference held at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat for his noteworthy contribution in the field of water resources in the last 40 years. A recipient of many national and international awards, he had joined the Uttar Pradesh irrigation department as an assistant engineer and rose to the highest post of engineer-in-chief for the Uttarakhand government. He was also the managing director at the Uttarakhand Project Development and Construction Corporation Limited.
