In latest news from Dehradun, as part of the BJP’s star-propelled campaigning plan, the saffron veteran and the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to hit campaign trail on April 12 and he will address meetings in Almora and Gopeshwar. The Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini will address public meeting in Haridwar on the same day. The Union minister Smriti Irani is also coming to the State to address meetings in Uttarkashi, Rishikesh and Bageshwar. Besides, the BJP’s prominent minority leader Shahnawaz Hussain is set to address meetings in Haridwar and Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar constituencies as both these constituencies have large minority population. He is likely to focus on minority dominated areas under Haridwar constituency like Bhagwanpur, Jhabrera, Piran Kaliyar and Manglour.
