The Ramman Mela will be held at Salud-Dungra on April 30 in Chamoli district. The date of the fair, which is also a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage of humanity, was announced by the Panch and Purohits at the Kshetrapal Devta Mandir on the occasion of Baisakhi on Monday.
At about 11 AM, the Bhumyal Kshetrapal Devta was brought from Dungra village to the accompaniment of Dhol-Damau to the Kshetrapal Mandir in Salud where the deity was ritually worshipped. The ritual worship will continue till the Ramman Mela. From April 14 to 29, the Kshetrapal Devta will be on a visit to Salud-Dungra. The famous masked dance will be held on the night of April 29 at the temple. The fair’s coordinator Kushal Singh Bhandari said that the Mela will be held this year on April 30.
