Ranji Trophy: Railways score 233/4 on day one against U’khand

In the first ever Ranji Trophy match being played at  Kaushiki Cricket Ground in Ramnagar, Railways scored 233/4 on day one against Uttarakhand on Saturday.  Winning the toss, Railways elected to bat first. The Uttarakhand bowlers made an early impact, reducing Railways to 63 for 3. However, a strong partnership between Mohammad Saif (98 not out) and B Merai (44 not out) helped Railways recover and reach 233 for 4 on the opening day. For Uttarakhand, Abhay Negi took two wickets while Devendra Bora and Mayank Mishra claimed one wicket each.

Several IPL players are participating in this Ranji Trophy encounter, including Upendra Yadav, Karan Sharma, Rajan Kumar, Yuvraj Chaudhary and Prashant Chopra.

The match was inaugurated by the president of Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) Deepak Mehra.
