In a bid to encourage people to vote, auto taxi and bikes service platform Rapido will offer free bike taxi rides to voters in Dehradun on polling day on February 14. Users commuting to the election booth can avail two free rides of up to three kilometres with the code ‘MYVOTE’.
Rapido, bike taxi head Rohit Rathod said, “The elections are an integral part of India’s democratic fabric. To make commuting to election booths easier, we are offering free rides to voters on polling day in Dehradun. We intend to encourage more people to cast their votes this year by providing a convenient, timely and affordable commute. We are glad to contribute to the cause and hope to witness an increase in voters’ footfall. ”
According to Rapido officials, it has been providing hassle-free transportation services across 100 cities in India. The auto and bike taxi booking app is charting ahead to offer free rides to voters across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. With two free auto rides for voters in Lucknow and Chandigarh, the platform will also give a 100 per cent waiver on bike taxi rides up to three kilometres in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Kanpur, Prayagraj and Dehradun.
