Rashtriya Poshan Maah to conclude today

The closing ceremony for Rashtriya Poshan Maah will take place today here at the Himalayan Cultural Centre (HCC). The Union minister of State for Women and Child Development (WCD), Savitri Thakur will be the chief guest at this event, accompanied by the State’s WECD minister Rekha Arya. This event marks the culmination of a month-long mass movement aimed at increasing nutrition awareness, encouraging community participation and promoting behavioural change.
According to officials, Poshan is not just about nutrition; it is about nurturing a stronger, healthier and more capable India. Guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the eighth Rashtriya Poshan Maah, which ran from September 17 to October 16 was launched in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. The initiative highlights that women’s health and nutrition are foundational for strong families and a developed Bharat. Considering this, the concluding ceremony in Dehradun will include various officials and ministers, along with Anganwadi workers and helpers from across the State. Poshan Maah has been celebrated nationwide under the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” theme focusing on improving the health and nutrition of women and children, with particular emphasis on comprehensive health screening and services, officials added.
They said under the leadership of Union Minister of WECD Annpurna Devi, the observance of Poshan Maah 2025 has successfully united various ministries, departments and community-based organisations, embodying the spirit of “Whole-of-Government, Whole-of-Society” convergence. The concluding ceremony collective action and advances the Jan Andolan for a Suposhit and Viksit Bharat. Nutrition champions under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 will be honoured during this occasion. Additionally, the distribution of Mahalakshmi kits to adolescent girls will be part of the programme, along with the recognition of Mission Shakti champions.
