In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Kumaon commissioner and the chief minister’s secretary Deepak Rawat took a review meeting involving the Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (PTCUL), Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL) and Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Ltd (UREDA) at his camp office in Haldwani.
During the meeting, he directed the realtors who are set to build housing estates in the region to set apart 500 sq m land for setting up substations. This, he said, would spare time and efforts. He also directed UPCL to firm up work plan for implementing it.
Rawat further said that over 6.5 lakh consumers would be provided with smart meters, adding that the work would start in the third week of September this year and would be completed by June 2016.
