Rawat instructs officials to boost health facilities on Char Dham circuit

The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat instructed the officials to enhance health arrangements on the Char Dham Yatra circuit. He said this in a review meeting held on Saturday. The election commission gave permission to the Health department to conduct the said meeting in view of the Yatra schedule to start in May.
During the meeting, Rawat instructed officials to improve health facilities for pilgrims and locals during the Yatra period. He further added that the State government is focused on ensuring the successful execution of the Char Dham Yatra, scheduled to begin on May 10. Efforts are underway to prepare a comprehensive roadmap for enhancing health facilities for devotees along the Yatra routes, he said.
Rawat further informed that he instructed Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of all the districts associated with the Char Dham Yatra to supply essential life-saving equipment and sufficient medications to both permanent and temporary medical facilities along the pilgrimage routes. Further, senior officials from the department have been tasked with ensuring the presence of specialised doctors, general physicians, paramedics, pharmacists and other medical personnel. Additionally, Srinagar Medical College, Doon Medical College and AIIMS Rishikesh have been advised to be on high alert during the Yatra period, he added.
