Rawat makes three more promises to U’khand electorate

Days after the voting for the assembly elections was held and as everyone is waiting for the counting of votes on March 10, the former chief minister of Uttarakhand and head of the State campaign committee of Congress Harish Rawat is continuing to make promises to the people of the state. On Thursday, Rawat said that the Congress party is preparing the blueprint of the new government. In this context he made three new declarations on Thursday. The former CM said that the Congress government would give a monthly pension of Rs 1,800 to the women who sing traditional Mangal Geets (Songs sung during auspicious ceremonies). He said that most of these women are elderly and they have kept a tradition alive and pension to them would provide much needed security to them. In another declaration Rawat said that a sum of Rs 500 per month would be given to the rural women under the Ghasyari Samman Pension scheme. He also said that the issue of the grade pay of the police personnel would be solved by the Congress government. It is pertinent to mention that during the entire election campaign Harish Rawat talked about the Char Dham, Char Kam promises made by the Congress party. He said that the Congress government would not allow the prices of cooking gas to go past Rs 500 and a sum of Rs 40,000 per year would be provided to five lakh families of the state. The Congress has also promised to create four lakh employment and door step delivery of health services.
