Warns of strict action if construction work is not completed on time
The Medical Health and Medical Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed officials of the executing agencies to speed up construction of medical colleges underway in the State. Stressing that the construction work should be completed on time, he warned that he will not hesitate from taking action against them if the target is not met. The minister issued this direction while chairing a meeting to review the construction of the medical colleges in Almora, Pithoragarh, Rudrapur and Haridwar here on Saturday.
Expressing dissatisfaction at the slow pace of construction, Rawat directed officials of the executing agencies, Uttarakhand Peyjal Nirman Nigam and Uttar Pradesh Nirman Nigam to expedite the construction of these medical colleges. Pulling up the officials, he made it clear that if the executing agencies do not bring the desired improvement in their work despite the warning, strict action will be initiated against them. The minister said that barring Haridwar medical college, the progress in construction of the other medical colleges is not satisfactory despite the fact that there is no dearth of funds for these works. In the last meeting, the Government of India had also issued instructions to ensure completion of the construction works on time, added the minister.
The Uttarakhand Pejyal Nirman Nigam managing director Uday Raj Singh, chief general manager Rajwar, medical education director Dr Ashutosh Sayana and other officials concerned were also present in the meeting.
