Rawat to attend Scouts and Guides Jamboree in Rajasthan

The Education and Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat would represent Uttarakhand in the 18th National Scouts and Guides Jamboree to be held in Pali district of Rajasthan. The jamboree would be inaugurated by the President Droupadi Murmu while Prime Minister Narendra Modi would attend the closing ceremony. Based on the ‘progress with peace’ theme the jamboree would be held from January 4 to 10.
Rawat said that about 35,000 scouts and guides from all the States of the country would participate in the jamboree and more than 500 scouts, guides, rover rangers and officers of the department would attend it from Uttarakhand. Students from Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives would also attend the jamboree. Rawat said that the jamboree village is spread over nine square kilometres and every facility would be provided in it. He said that different activities and competitions would be organised in the jamboree. A special air show would be organised by the Indian Air Force while camels of the Border Security Force would showcase their skills in the programme.
