Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat has strongly objected to a recommendation made by the fifth State Finance Commission. He has said that he will undertake a protest demonstration if the recommendation is not rejected by the state government.
Rawat posted on the social media that the recommendation of the state finance commission to annul all such posts in various departments which have been lying vacant for three years is against the interests of the unemployed and cannot be accepted. “The BJP government has committed a major sin by accepting this recommendation. However, all is not lost yet and this recommendation should be rejected. I give the government one week’s time regarding this demand of mine. If the government does not reject this recommendation of the fifth pay commission within one week, I will sit on a protest fast for an hour in the blazing sun under the open sky so that the government feels a bit of the pain of the unemployed people,” said the Congress leader.
