Rawat & Yogi offer prayers in Badrinath, meet soldiers along Indo-Tibet border

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has announced Rs one crore for Chamoli district to ensure traffic flow and other facilities which may get affected by snowfall in Badrinath. Rawat said this after offering prayers in the Badrinath shrine along with his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday.

After paying obeisance to the lord, the duo participated in the Bhumi Poojan and foundation laying for construction of UP tourist rest house in the temple township. Later, the two chief ministers went to the border area village of Mana and other nearby sites. They also interacted with jawans of the ITBP, army and BRO and boosted their morale.

Rawat said that in the past three days he along with his UP counterpart had offered prayers in Kedarnath and Badrinath. He expressed happiness at the foundation laying of UP tourist rest house, stating that its construction will provide one more facility for pilgrims and tourists in Badrinath. He also appreciated the manner in which UP was progressing under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath as its chief minister.

Speaking on the occasion, Aditynath appreciated the manner in which the Char Dham were being moulded according to present developmental needs. “There were many disputes between UP and Uttarakhand for the past 18-20 years regarding transfer of assets. The Uttarakhand CM succeeded in resolving these disputes with his creative and positive approach. As a result, the long standing dispute over UP tourism corporation’s Alaknanda hotel in Haridwar, was resolved with the two states mutually consenting its handing over to Uttarakhand government while the UP government is constructing the Bhagirathi tourist house there,” he said.

Referring to the glory of Badrinath, he said that this was where Yograj Sundarnath undertook his penance. He said that it would be good if his cave could be spruced up.
