The Bharatiya Janata Party has termed as laughable the statement made by Congress leader Harish Rawat regarding the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. While campaigning for the Congress in Uttar Pradesh, Rawat had stated that he will offer a plot to the UP CM in Uttarakhand for building a cottage for himself after the BJP is defeated in UP. The BJP’s Uttarakhand vice president Devendra Bhasin termed this statement as laughable. “Whether it be Uttarakhand or Uttar Pradesh or the other states where elections are being held, the Congress is set to be routed. In Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, the BJP is set to win the Assembly elections with a resounding margin and Yogi Adityanath will be the UP CM once again. As far as providing a plot in Uttarakhand to build a cottage for a renunciate is concerned, the government formed in Uttarakhand can consider providing it for Harish Rawat,” said Bhasin.
The BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that Adityanath is an ascetic who has renounced everything and is busy in social service. “Harish Rawat should worry about himself as his remaining political standing is also going to be lost in these elections,” he said.
