Read, understand & follow fundamental duties- Governor

The Governor of Uttarakhand Lieutenant General (Rtd) Gurmit Singh has said that every citizen must read, understand and follow the fundamental duties mentioned in Article 51 A of the Constitution. He said that youth should propagate fundamental duties through social media and mass media.
The Governor was addressing a programme organised on the occasion of Constitution day at Siddhartha Law College here on Friday.
The governor said that the youth studying law should give top priority to the nation, society and public interest in their legal field in future. In case of any doubt, the Constitution of India is our biggest guide, he added.
“Every word, every comma, every full stop, every page of the holy book of the Constitution gives knowledge of the depth of our civilization, culture and history. The passion of Indianness lies in the Preamble of the Constitution. The introduction transforms us Indians into We from the feeling of I, there is a different enthusiasm in it. Behind the making of the Indian Constitution is the tireless hard work, dedication and dedication of the great people. The Constitution has united us and connected us with each other. It has freed us from all inequalities of religion, caste, language and region,’’ he quipped. The Governor also released a replica of the Indian Constitution at Siddhartha Law College on the occasion of Constitution Day on Friday.
The Legal Adviser to the Governor, Amit Sirohi, Director of Siddhartha Law College, Justice K D Shahi (Retd), teachers and students were present on the occasion.
