Ready to take services of insurance companies in SGHS: Minister

The health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that the State government is ready to take the services of the insurance companies in the management of the State government health scheme (SGHS). He added that the government will take the employees in confidence on the issue.
Responding to a question by the Congress MLA Bhuwan Kapdi, the minister informed that the medical facilities are provided to employees and pensioners under the SGHS (golden card) scheme. He said that so far the State Health Authority (SHA) has received a contribution of Rs 490.29 crore from the employees while the government has spent a sum of Rs 661 crore in the treatment of the employees in different empaneled hospitals under the scheme. He said that a sum of Rs 80 crore is pending to be paid to the private hospitals by the SHA under the SGHS.
