Both commuters and customers have expressed concern about individuals creating social media reels at Paltan Bazaar, which leads to traffic congestion causing inconvenience to the public. The popularity of creating reels among people has been noticed lately, especially at the Dehradun’s major markets like Paltan Bazaar. As a result, commuters and customers are worried about the traffic jams caused by this trend. Such actions also hinder the shopping experience at the market.
A regular commuter, Suraj Baluni said that he passes through Paltan Bazaar on his way from office to home regularly. He has observed individuals blocking the way to make social media reels, as well as causing noise pollution with speakers. He said that such persons regularly making reels cause considerable inconvenience to the public. He further emphasised that the act of individuals regularly making reels at Paltan Bazaar has become quite common, causing traffic congestion and disrupting customers’ shopping experiences.
Another customer, Priyanka Verma also shared similar concerns about individuals creating reels at Paltan Bazaar, affecting her shopping experience. She added that she witnessed individuals with speakers approaching commuters and customers, requesting them to pause for a few minutes to participate in making a reel. This ongoing activity has been disturbing customers, leading to traffic congestion and other disruptions. It is important for the authorities to address this issue, she added.
Many other commuters and customers have also voiced their concerns about the practice of making reels at Paltan Bazaar.
Further, the president of the Doon Valley Mahanagar Udyog Vyapar Mandal (DVMUVM) Pankaj Mason stated that he was not aware of the reel making activity taking place at the Platan Bazaar. He added that no complaints had been brought to his attention by any shopkeepers so far. In an effort to address this issue, he expressed his intention to personally gather feedback from the shopkeepers and some customers at the market regarding the reel making operations at the Paltan Bazaar. Should any inconveniences be reported by the shopkeepers and customers, actions will be taken against the reel making activity at the market.
