The 53rd Regional Sports Meet (boys) commenced on Monday in the KV ONGC premises in Dehradun under the patronage of the deputy commissioner, Dehradun regional office of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The general manager (HR) and in-charge of CSR ONGC Chandan Sushil Sajan inaugurated the meet. Among those present were the principal of KV ONGC Sushil Kumar and the principal of KV ITBP Gauchar Sandeep Tyagi. Students of KV ONGC staged cultural programme, including Garhwali dance, and yoga performance.
The KV ONGC officials said that 15 teams from Kendriya Viyalayas, including those of Bageshwar, Banbasa, Haldwani, Kausani, Merthi, Mukteshwar, Ranikhet and Roorkee, are participating in Under- 17 volleyball competition which will be played in the coming three days. Besides, U-14 teams of Bageshwar, Dharchula and New Tehri Town are participating along with the other KVs located in Dehradun.
