Regularise 55 BRIDCUL employees working since 2012- Maharaj

The State’s Public Works, Irrigation, Tourism, Panchayati Raj, Rural Works, Watershed and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj has ordered that 55 employees working since 2012 in the Bridge, Ropeways, Tunnel and Other Infrastructure Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (BRIDCUL) should be regularized. He also directed the officers to organise seminars for raising awareness on new technology in construction works and its implementation. The minister issued these directions while chairing a review meeting of the corporation here on Monday.

Maharaj said that new technology should be used for construction works and that BRIDCUL, PWD, Rural Works Department, Irrigation, Tourism and PMGSY should jointly organise a seminar regarding the information about such technology.

The minister said during the review meeting that work on various important projects is underway in different districts through BRIDCUL. The corporation is working on projects of various departments of the State including PWD (CRS), Tourism, Medical Education, Health, Higher Education, Panchayati Raj, Civil Aviation, Employment and Training, and PMGSY. In past years, the corporation has completed works including construction of buildings, roads, bridges and airstrips amounting to about Rs 445.80 crore. Maharaj further informed that the corporation had completed the construction of the Naini-Saini airstrip and 200-bed hospital during the Covid-19 pandemic along with construction of roads costing more than Rs 50 crore under PMGSY during the past two years. BRIDCUL also completed the construction of the State’s first green building (Svagriha rating) in Dehradun- the building of the food commissioner’s office.

The managing director of the corporation Kundan Singh, general manager Rajendra Prasad Uniyal, PWD chief engineer Ayaz Ahmed, Irrigation department chief engineer Mukesh Mohan and other departmental officials concerned were also  among those present in the review meeting.
