The Social Development for Communities (SDC) Foundation presented two of its newly released reports to the chief secretary Radha Raturi, on Tuesday. These reports focus on the Uttarakhand Swachh Survekshan 2023 and the Char Dham Yatra 2024.

The founder of the SDC Foundation Anoop Nautiyal said that the reports were released last month. One of the reports “Pathways to Pilgrimage: Data Insights, Challenges and Opportunities,” focuses on the Char Dham Yatra 2024. It analyzes various aspects of the Yatra, which spanned 192 days in 2024, using government data and media reports. The report also provides ten key recommendations based on its assessment of the Char Dham Yatra, he added.

He further said that the second report examines the Uttarakhand results from the Swachh Survekshan 2023, a nationwide cleanliness survey. It evaluates the performance of Uttarakhand’s 88 urban local bodies across different cleanliness categories and includes suggestions for improving outcomes in future surveys.

Nautiyal said that while submitting the reports, the chief secretary appreciated both of the reports.   He said that she specifically highlighted the suggestion to make the registration process for the Char Dham Yatra more accessible, indicating that this recommendation could be implemented. She also assured that after thoroughly reviewing the entire report, she would strive to act on the recommendations to the best of her ability, he added.

Nautiyal added that for the Swachh Survekshan report, Raturi said that the current focus of the administration is on conducting urban local body elections. After the elections, efforts will be made to implement the suggestions outlined in the report, he said.
