A tigress rescued about two years ago after killing three persons died at the Dhela rescue centre in Corbett national park. Corbett deputy director Digant Nayak informed that the tigress had been rescued after three persons were killed by a big cat near Panot Dhangarhi.
The big cat was captured in the Sarpduli range of Corbett to check human-wildlife conflict and brought to the rescue centre in July 2022. A DNA test of the tigress had later confirmed that she was involved in the deaths of the three persons. A post mortem examination of the big cat was carried out on Saturday after which the carcass was destroyed by fire.
