A tiger rescued recently from the Garhwal forest division was released in Corbett tiger reserve here on Wednesday. The male tiger had been rescued from the Dhumakot area on October 28. The big cat was brought to the rescue centre in the Dhela range of Corbett where he underwent an examination by veterinary doctors. The tiger was found to be physically fit. Following the all-clear by veterinarians, the Forest department officials fixed a radio collar on the big cat and released him in the Kalagarh range of Corbett. According to the department officials, the chief wildlife warden has directed that the movements of the tiger should be tracked daily using radio telemetry.
