Reserve 70% beds for Covid patients- CM to Pvt hospitals

Calls for coordinated efforts between government and Pvt hospitals in the fight against the pandemic

The chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat has said that all the private hospitals should reserve at least 70 percent of beds for treatment of Covid-19 patients. Presiding over a meeting with the representatives of the private hospitals at his camp office on Thursday, the CM emphasised on coordinated effort between government and private hospitals in the fight against the pandemic of Covid-19. He said that optimum utilisation of the government and private health facilities should be done. Stressing on management of available manpower, the CM said that it would help in the case of health workers getting infected. He suggested that the people should be prompted to use the e- Sanjivini portal for OPD services. The CM said that the private hospitals should inform the government about their requirement of ventilators and Oxygen. He claimed that the state government is doing every possible effort for making them available. He suggested that the MBBS students and last year nursing students can serve in the Covid Care centre of Raipur sports stadium. The CM directed the district magistrate (DM) of Dehradun to ensure safety of the private hospitals.

The secretary Amit Negi said that the private hospitals are giving full support to the government and the state administration is in regular contact with them. He said that efforts to maintain availability of medicines, other equipment and oxygen are being done. In the meeting the CM was informed that capacity of Covid care centre at Raipur is being increased to 100 beds and oxygen support would also be made available there. In Coronation hospital 100 bed capacity to treat Covid-19 patients is being developed. In Himalayan hospital Jollygrant 150 more beds would be made available for Covid patients and in AIIMS Rishikesh 400 beds would be activated. The officials said that 80 ICU beds are in Mahant Indiresh hospital and 150 beds have been reserved at Cantt board hospital.

The meeting was attended by the cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi, Secretaries Shailesh Bagoli, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, DM Dehradun Ashish Srivastava, VC of Himalayan hospital Vijay Dhasmana and representatives of AIIMS Rishikesh and other private hospitals.
