PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE /Dehradun

In the murder case of gangster Vikram Sharma, Dehradun Police have carried out raids in Jharkhand to arrest the accused. Dehradun senior superintendent of police Pramendra Dobal said that the police have identified the accused and teams are actively working to arrest them at the earliest. “If the accused are not arrested soon, the police will announce a reward for information leading to their arrest,” he added.

The accused were reportedly identified as Jharkhand residents Akash Prasad, Ashutosh and Vishal. According to Dobal, the accused reached Dehradun through separate routes. One of them came by air, the second by road and third by train. After committing the crime, they fled the State separately as part of their strategy to avoid arrest. The SSP also said that if the accused are not arrested soon, a reward will be announced for information leading to their arrest. There were some reports claiming that the accused had surrendered, but Dobal denied these claims.

It is noteworthy that on February 13, the three accused allegedly arrived on a motorcycle. Two of them shot Sharma when he came out of a gymnasium on Rajpur Road to return home. The shooters were waiting outside and shot him dead on the spot. Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, a case has been registered at Dalanwala police station. Meanwhile, the victim’s wife has alleged that Sharma’s brother, Arvind Sharma, might have been involved in the murder. The police have questioned Arvind Sharma, but have found no concrete evidence so far to support the allegations.
