Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) cadet Emon Ghosh has secured the All India first position (AIR 1) in the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NDA/NA) (I) 2025 examination. According to officials, Ghosh from West Bengal has demonstrated both academic and military excellence through this achievement. This examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Ghosh’s success reflects not only his personal dedication but also the disciplined training, rigorous academic system and constant guidance provided by RIMC. This year, 28 cadets from RIMC made it to the final selection list of UPSC, marking the highest number from any single institute—a national record in itself. Several other cadets also secured positions in the top 20, they added.
The officials further said that the leadership of RIMC commandant colonel Rahul Agarwal along with the strong support from ARTRAC (Army Training Command), has been crucial to this unprecedented success. Special emphasis was placed on character building, the development of military leadership skills and academic excellence for the cadets. Career mentorship and specific guidance for SSB preparation under the leadership of PK Jain and colonel Hari Bisht helped the cadets navigate the entire selection process. Additionally, subject specialist teachers provided strategic support alongside academic preparation, they added.
Colonel Agarwal stated, “We are very proud of the achievements of our cadets. At RIMC, excellence is not just an event; it is a daily discipline. ‘Strength and Wisdom’ is the guiding principle of our every step.” This accomplishment reaffirms RIMC’s core objective of producing ethical, courageous and leadership-oriented officers for the Indian Armed Forces.
