Rishikesh achieves ODF + in SBM-U survey
Rishikesh has achieved the status of ODF + in the field survey of Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U) conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). The three status of ODF, ODF + and ODF ++ under SBM-U is given to the cities on the basis of easy access to clean and functional public toilets for local residents besides being free from open defecation. This status is also a major factor in determining the rank of cities in Swachh Survekshan every year.

He stated that this achievement will certainly help the city to get 700 points in Swachh Survekshan 2021 which will improve the chances to get a better ranking in this cleanliness survey. Moreover, Rishikesh has also received over forty thousand citizen’s feedback so far and as per the officials, it will certainly increase by the end of this month.
Meanwhile, the field inspection by SBM-U was also recently concluded in Dehradun city and according to the chief municipal health officer, Dr Kailash Joshi, the corporation is confident that it would maintain its status of ODF ++ this year too.
