Concerned over the rising crime involving girls and women across the country, the Kumaun University’s DSB campus authority has constituted an internal complaint committee, enabling girl students to complain if they are subjected to any kind of threat and atrocities inside the campus.
The constitution of the committee was preceded by a workshop organised by students of all the departments in the campus during which they presented their views on what they expect from the committee and how to make the people at large aware of the worsening women’s plight with the number of crimes committed against them rising alarmingly.
The director of the newly constituted committee Prof Chandrakala Rawat said that the list containing contact numbers of the members of the committee have been pasted at appropriate places for the students to see.
