CM lays foundation stone of Rs 20.44 crore nursing college at Agastyamuni in Rudraprayag
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the gift of ropeway project to the State for making the Kedarnath Yatra more accessible. The work on the ropeway project would commence soon. Addressing a public meeting at Agastyamuni in Rudraprayag district on Monday, the CM said that the work on Kedarnath reconstruction is going on at a fast pace. He said that safe conduction of the Yatra was a challenge but the task was accomplished by the support of the public representatives and the administration. He said that the work on the Karnprayag- Rishikesh railway line is also going at a fast pace and more and more pilgrims would visit the State in future. Dhami said that the State government is committed to provide employment to the youth and create self employment opportunities for them. He said that soon recruitment on seven thousand posts would be done by the Public Service Commission. The CM said that the State government has set a target to make one lakh women as Lakhpati Didis. He said that one thousand new orchards are being developed in the State.
The CM laid the foundation stone of a nursing college at Kothadi village on the occasion. The college would be constructed at a cost of Rs 20.44 crore. He directed the officers to ensure that the construction work of the college is completed on time. Dhami said that a mini stadium at Dharcot in Agastyamuni would be constructed.
Speaking on the occasion, the Health and Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the nursing college in the area is a big gift to the district. He said that Kedarnath ropeway would be constructed at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore and a critical care centre would be set up in the district hospital at a cost of Rs 23 crore. The minister said that recruitment of 3,000 nurses and 800 ANMs would be done by the health department. He added that 1500 lectures, 1,500 LTs and 1,000 primary teachers would be recruited in the school education department.
Congratulating the people for the gift of nursing college in the area, the Rudraprayag MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary said that students interested to pursue studies in paramedical sciences would now get the facility in Agastyamuni itself.
Kedarnath MLA Shaila Rani Rawat, president district panchayat Amardei Shah, district magistrate Mayur Dixit, superintendent of police VA Bhadane and others were present on the occasion.
