The police have issued a new traffic plan for Dehradun in view of Christmas on Monday. The traffic police have also been divided into five zones and 17 sectors to ensure smooth traffic and safety on roads. Most of the traffic will be diverted near Rajpur Road and Hathibadkala areas as Christmas celebrations are mostly held in churches, malls, cafes and restaurants located there.
According to the police, the traffic coming from Rajpur and Mussoorie will be diverted from Kuthal Gate and will be diverted from Kathbangla Bridge towards IT Park and Sahastradhara Crossing in case of heavy traffic in marketplaces in Jakhan. Besides this, no traffic will be sent towards Dilaram during heavy traffic on Hathibadkala Market and New Cantonment Road.
Traffic coming from Circuit House will be diverted from the junction near the hotel Annexe towards Cantonment and Bindal. The officials said that five units will manage the traffic on Monday including a mounted police unit, Smart City Unit, drone unit, crane unit and Public Announcement System (PAS) Unit. Besides this, the police have made parking arrangements on Parade Ground with 500 vehicle parking capacity, Rangers Ground with 250 vehicle parking capacity, Pavillion Ground with 80 vehicles and GTM parking near Drona cut with 50 vehicles parking capacity.
