Police recovered cash worth Rs 1.70 crore from the house of an account in Dehradun. When questioned, neither the accountant nor his family members could give a satisfactory account of the cash recovered. The income tax department was informed. SO Nehru Colony Lokendra Bahuguna said that the outpost in-charge had received information about cash being kept in a house in Friends Enclave. Police went to the house. Police informed that it was the house of an account and the accountant’s father is also in the same profession. The accountant and his family members were questioned and they gave contradictory answers. The accountant said that the cash belonged to the company he is working for while others of the family said that they had got the cash by selling their house in Muzaffarnagar. Police seized the cash and informed the income tax department.
