Rs 1,203 crore spent on Ayushman scheme in U’khand

The State government has spent a sum of Rs 1,203 crore on the Ayushman scheme since its inception in Uttarakhand. A total of 6.67 lakh people have so far availed the benefit of free treatment under the scheme. The State Health Authority (SHA) responsible for operating and implementing the scheme in the State informed that more than 47.72 lakh Ayushman cards have so far been made under the scheme in the State and a large proportion of people in the State have availed its benefits. There are 223 hospitals in the State which are under the panel of the scheme while there are more than 30,000 hospitals in the country which are in the panel of the Ayushman scheme.
The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that it is a matter of great satisfaction that the Ayushman scheme is evoking very good response from the general public. He said that public health is one of the priority areas of the State government and efforts are being made to ensure that health cards of the eligible population are made.
